A key part of ensuring that your Battery Monitoring Systems continue to perform reliably and accurately is an annual on-site preventative maintenance visit to each unit.

Data Power Monitoring offers a Preventative Maintenance Service, customized for each battery monitor type which we recommend be performed in person on each monitoring system on an annual basis.

Our Preventative Maintenance service includes:

• Wire Harness Inspections: Visually check for corrosion or foreign material in the proximity of cable connections to battery cell links and long interconnect cables.
• Central Monitoring Unit Inspection: Visually check and test for integrity of harness connections to the Monitoring System.
• Internal Inspection: Visually check for integrity, cleanliness, and connections internal to the Monitoring unit electronics and computer chassis.
• Internal Battery Replacement: Replace power backup battery. Replace computer RAM and clock battery (as required.)
• Validation of Ohmic and Voltage and Temperature and Ripple (if applicable): Perform battery system measurement test runs by manually initiating rom the Monitor local panel. Verify measured values against previous values and compare as applicable to handheld instrumentations to check integrity of readings. Readings should not vary significantly from stored trending data in the DPMC BAR software database.
• Calibration: Check and adjust as necessary for older analog-based battery monitoring systems not utilizing today’s DSP.
• Local Control Unit Functions: Verify the operation of local controls to ensure operational integrity of each manual operation.
• BAR Database: Perform graphical displays of trended data to ensure that database integrity is intact for the period of data collection.
• Cleanliness: Ensure that Monitoring System and its surrounding environment is clean.
• Operating System Upgrades: Perform any server/controller operating system upgrades as necessary. For systems running Windows OS, ensure all appropriate Windows updates have been applied and antivirus software is updated and has the latest definitions and auto-update enabled.
